THAT'S GOING BEYOND DISTRIBUTION.
VoiceComm was founded in 2001 with the goal of offering mobile accessories to customers in the growing telecommunications industry. Derek Weiss, our founder and Executive Chairman of the Board, originally worked for a retailer selling beepers. He saw the potential to create a centralized place for customers to purchase accessories to complement their new devices and eventually created an accessory wall in the back of a Sprint store, operating in the stock room and offering flashing antennas, pouches, and chargers. Over time, VoiceComm expanded its network of customers, catering primarily to accessory carts found in local malls, which offered accessories like face plates and pouches as protecting and customizing devices became more popular.
With the launch of the iPhone and other smartphones around 2007, a new ecosystem of accessory brands and products emerged. As the VoiceComm team and portfolio grew, we began to service more dealers and build relationships with many of these new brands. In 2014, we began a partnership with iQmetrix to offer VMI services to mutual customers, and later invested in our Dropship program with iQmetrix to offer Endless Aisle services. We were also named as a master distributor for OtterBox in 2015.
In December 2020, VoiceComm acquired the mobile accessories division of Tessco Technologies and expanded its team, customer base, and product offerings to become the industry leader we are today. The Ventev brand also joined our portfolio at this time with its innovative power products. With the growth of the team and company, in 2022, we moved to our new warehouse in Pennsauken, New Jersey, with over 100,000 square feet of space to service new and existing customers. We also opened a satellite office in Towson, Maryland, for our newest employees to collaborate, including a state-of-the-art lab for Ventev engineering and testing.
